Hosted at the beautiful U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina and presented by
TrySports, the Rock-N-Race Weekend is a two-day event featuring
XTERRA Whitewater. This fun-packed event weekend will consist of a total of four races utilizing the technical, challenging, yet fun and scenic trails along the Cawtaba River

Bring your family and friends! There are plenty of things to do while you're out on the race course including
rock climbing, zip-lining and whitewater rafting. If interested, they can
volunteer at the race. You can even partake in a nice whitewater rafting dip after your race.
The weekend will consist of a total of four races:
-
8k Trail Run - This race will start with a jaunt around the Whitewater Center's man-made rapids before diving into the beautiful single-track trail. As you wind through the woods along the Cawtaba River, you'll find your share of challenges with tough climbs and technical trails, including a portion of "Goat Hill". You'll finish your race along the Whitewater Center's rapids. This is the same run course that both the Duathlon and XTERRA races will use.
-
20k Trail Run - You'll run some of the same trails as the 8k runners, so you'll have the same challenges, only more of them. Unlike the 8k'ers, you'll also have to endure "Figure 8", "Toilet Bowl" and more. This race will race every option of trail at the Whitewater Center.
-
Off-Road Duathlon - Running or mountain biking not enough for you? How about both? This race will begin with a 3k trail run along the north trails. Afterwards, you'll bike every trail for a total of 20k off root-jumping, bunny-hopping, rock garden climbing, tree dodging fun. Then you'll finish up your race with an 8k trail run.
-
XTERRA Whitewater - Triathletes! Ready for something different? Ready for something tough? How about a gruelling swim that includes swimming 600 meters in the Cawtaba river, a tough, barefooted, 500 meter trail run, along with a hand-over-hand hill climb, then another 150 meters in the Whitewater Center's man-made pond? Follow that up with 20k of mountain biking, 8k of trail running and you have XTERRA Whitewater.
